Observing Courtesy on the Road
A majority of accidents in motorways are caused by reckless drivers who were such in a hurry to get to their destination that they did not mind other motorists. Such situations are examples of not practising courtesy on the road. Apparently, however, a lot of people tend to have overlooked the importance of safety, which results to numerous damages and even fatalities. For this reason, here are a few motorist etiquette points to follow to keep yourself and your loved ones safe while travelling.
Practising the old cliche "slowly but surely" will keep you safe on the road. This is because driving at the recommended speed will help you avoid accidents. Similarly, giving enough space between your vehicle and others will allow everyone to be able to manoeuvre the cars easily. Aside from that, putting a leeway when braking will let others to know that you are stopping, hence preventing mishaps. Furthermore, relax and breathe even if you are in a hurry to get to another place. After all, being a courteous driver will not only prevent you from being involved in misfortunes on the road, but will also make you a better member of the society.
