Ex Villa Boss John Gregory Sells V1 LLA on Ebay!

Former Aston Villa boss John Gregory has sold his famous V1LLA registration plate for £39,000.
Gregory, the last manager to lead Villa to an FA Cup final, sold the football-themed accessory in an auction on eBay.
The 56-year-old now lives and works in Israel, where he manages Israeli Premier League side FC Ashdod.
He said: “I will always be a big Villa fan but I thought it was time for someone else to enjoy it as much as I have for the last nine years.”
Only one bid came in for the item but it was at the £39,000 asking price.
Gregory bought the plate for £40,000 in 2000, halfway through his four-year spell as Villa manager.
Doug Ellis, former Villa owner, accidentally crashed his Rolls-Royce, with the number plate AV1, into Gregory’s similarly-plated Range Rover in the car park outside the ground.
Gregory joined Villa as a coaching assistant under Brian Little between 1994 and 1996.
He rejoined in 1998 following a spell as manager of Wycombe Wanderers and led his team to the 2000 FA Cup Final, the last at the old Wembley, where Villa were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea.
