Gangster Ian 'Blink' McDonald Sells Scotland's Most Dangerous Registration Plate For 20k

GANGSTER Ian "Blink" McDonald has sold Scotland's most dangerous number plate – for more than £20,000.
He has flogged his B1 LNK private reg after underworld rivals made a string of attempts on his life.
The ex-bank robber's car has been firebombed and had a bomb planted in it.
McDonald said: "I've been keeping a lower profile lately and I decided to get rid of the number plate. I sold it for over £20,000 – I was pleased with the deal.
"I almost felt like I shouldn't have sold it to the guy because his car will probably end up getting blown up.
"It's a great reg but I just decided I would be better with something that didn't stand out so much.
"I'm not sure where it is but hopefully the new owner isn't mistaken for me."
McDonald, 50, used to love cruising around Glasgow in his black Mercedes carrying the number plate.
But in May 2009, a gas bomb was placed under the car after he fell out with a gangland rival.
Two weeks later, it was set on fire outside his home near Riddrie, Lanarkshire.
Insurers refused to pay out after the firebomb attack and he has since bought a Vauxhall Astra with a normal number plate.
Rival hoods then slashed his face and tried to cut his throat just days after the car attack.
Over the years, McDonald has been targeted on dozens of occasions and once called himself a "dead man walking" in a TV interview.
